“I am ever more convinced that only a correct and sound balance
between technical execution and an idea produces a true work of art.
It’s pointless to contradict this… line, fusion, mystery, impasto and chiaroscuro
these are what make the contents of a painting speak. This is the eternal idea!
The subject matter comes later.”
GRANDART is a new modern and contemporary art fair whose first edition takes place 10-12 November 2017 in the spaces of The Mall.
Among the participants are Italian and international galleries that focus on the sector of painting, sculpture and applied arts that maintains a close connection with techniques, the aesthetics of materials and art history.
The values of know-how and the search for solutions that address the notion of beauty and seek it in the present are the criteria for selecting the artists in the show.
A number of artists from the classical and modern scene, among them some true rediscoveries, are joined by a selection of current names in contemporary art and emerging young artists.
To vitalise this first edition of GRANDART there will also be a retrospective, organised in collaboration with a European institution, as well as a series of side events and debates.
The Mall is a 4000-square-metre space located in one of Milan’s new centres and already a venue for international fairs, among them MiaPhotoFairMilano
GRANDART will be supported by a national and international communications system.
